Although Parkinson´s disease is debilitating millions of people around the globe, none of the current therapies has been able to curb the progression of the disease, laying a serious challenge before the neuroscience community. Both pharmacological as well as non-drug approaches have been proposed and extensively investigated. This works offers an extensive description of some of the new promising non-traditional approaches in the management of Parkinson´s disease with a special focus on the interesting potential use of stem cell-based regenerative therapies in the treatment of Parkinson´s disease. This work should be useful to many scholars involved in neurosciense, Parkinson´s disease, stem cell-based therapy, and regenerative medicine.
