Staphylococci with many weapons contributing to disease pathogenesis are difficult to treat because of the restricted spectrum of antimicrobials of proven efficacy. They have become one of the most aggressive organisms infecting mankind because of their virulence factors and various mechanisms of drug resistance .This could result in serious clinical and public health consequences. In view of this and consequent implications for mortality and morbidity, it is important to control the spread of resistant strains.
