"Evidence-based policy and informed decision-making at all levels of the health system require quality HMIS data. The health management information system (HMIS) in Ethiopia is characterized by poor data quality and low information use for decision making. Therefore, this book is aimed at assessing the status of current HMIS performance and factors associated with its implementation in health facilities of the study area. Effective supportive supervision and health facility performance review team (PRT) functions including HMIS management and data quality checking were significantly associated with good performance. Therefore, building capacity of health workers, effective supportive supervision, strengthening Performance review team and availing HMIS supplies should be emphasized for adequate performance of current HMIS.
