This book compiles the findings from a study that examined the prevalence of LVH and its predictors among patient with hypertension. This study also examined the sensitivity and specificity of the Sokolow-Lyon voltage and Cornell product criteria in diagnosing left ventricular hypertrophy in the primary care against the gold standard echocardiography method. The preferred method of LVH assessment by patients is reported. By having this knowledge on the sensitivity and specificity of the different ECG criteria and the predictors of LVH will definitely help us in identifying the at-risk group to be targeted for further evaluation by echocardiography, particularly when health resources are limited.
