Osteoporosis is a growing public health problem in both sexes. The present research aimed to assess the awareness about osteoporosis among adults, and so preventive programs could be designed according to the needs. A cross sectional study was conducted in Riyadh city through the use of stratified random sampling. 87% of the participants had heard of osteoporosis. Considerable number of adult males and females are unaware about osteoporosis and its risk factors. knowledge, attitude and preventive activities showed significant differences by gender, in many instances.
