Spinal cord injury (SCI) is a devastating medical condition, which has life-changing consequences on numerous aspects of human functioning and participation. Persons with SCI are confronted with functional difficulties, including motor sensory impairments, bladder and bowel emptying, respiratory or blood pressure problems, which frequently result in limitations in activities and participation like, in mobility, in self-care, in communication and in domestic life. SCI has been studied in detail in the developed world. But, more than 80 % of the world´s population lives in the developing countries and we know little about SCI form this part of the world.
